NYCI COVID-19 Statement

We cannot wait to gather in person this summer, and the health and safety of everyone who attends is our priority. At this time, the Nebraska Young Child Institute has offered participants the choice between either in-person or virtual attendance. We will continue to monitor and follow government mandates and policy changes and local and venue guidelines along with public health announcements.

 Safety Recommendations:

  • All attendees should be mindful and respectful of other attendees' health choices.
  • Masks are not required at the conference, but are strongly encouraged. Wear a mask based on your personal preference, informed by your vaccination status and personal level of risk. All attendees should be mindful and respectful of other attendees' health choices.
  • Allow for social distancing when possible. We recommend minimizing potential physical contact.
  • Breakout rooms will be setup at a reduced capacity with chairs spaced apart to prevent overcrowding. If a breakout room is full, please respect others and find an alternative session to attend.
  • Frequently wash hands for at least 20 seconds, especially after touching high contact surfaces, sneezing/coughing/touching face, or before eating.
  • Use hand sanitizer when handwashing is inaccessible or infeasible.
  • If ill with flu-like or COVID-like symptoms, wear a mask, get tested, stay at home, and contact your health care provider.
