Do you work with children birth to age 5 in a home-based environment or classroom? Are the children you are working with receiving special education services and have an IFSP or IEP? Do you know how to access services and support including specific AT in Nebraska?

Join us for this informational session to learn about assistive technology for children birth to age 5 and why access is so important! The session will include (a) information and examples of AT for young children, (b) how to access assistive technology services and resources in Nebraska, (c) how to include assistive technology in an IFSP or IEP, and (d) additional resources on AT consideration.

Learning Objectives

At the conclusion of this session, participants will:

• Identify 3 reasons that AT may be important for young children with disabilities
• Identify at least 5 specific AT devices/systems that may help young children with disabilities
• State 4 strategies for integrating AT into a child’s IFSP/IEP
• State at least 3 strategies for accessing AT resources in Nebraska
