This session is designed for helping professionals who may come in contact with Limited English Proficient (LEPs) individuals who may need the service of a language interpreter to communicate. There are many misconceptions about language interpretation. In this session you will learn the challenges of interpretation, the different modes of interpretation, the ethics of the interpreting professional and important things to know when working and collaborating with interpreters.

1. Increase their understanding of the process of interpretation.
2. Increase their understanding of the role and responsibilities of interpreters.
3. Learn tips on how to effectively work and collaborate with interpreters.
