Session Time

June 26

For many years we have known about how early adversity impacts young children’s brain development and learning. We now know that children’s brain development and learning can be supported by positive environments and experiences. In this workshop, we will revisit how the young child’s brain develops, and the role of healthy relationships for wellbeing. Using activities and engaged learning, we will explore how emotion literacy develops in the young brain, and what early childhood professionals can do to support it using a variety of resources and instructional strategies. Finally, we will examine what early childhood professionals need to support the wellbeing and learning of young children.
