Working with children and families is both rewarding and intensely challenging. It is often difficult to separate professional from personal, which leads to high rates of vicarious trauma, stress, and burnout. The FAN (Facilitating Attuned Interactions), a model for reflective practice, is a tool to help tackle this plight of the human services workforce by helping people examine their past actions, emotions, experiences, and responses to evaluate their work performance and learn to improve in the future.
