A child's development during the first three years of a child's life sets the stage for the rest of a child's life.  The session discusses what toxic stress is and how the various forms of toxic stress (e.g., neglect, parental addictions, domestic violence, abuse, etc) impact on the young child’s developing brain in the areas of language, emotional and behavioral regulation, attention/executive function, sleep, learning, etc, grounded in the significance of the attachment relationship.
