This presentation will focus on young children diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). An overview of the early signs of autism will be provided followed by five practical strategies adults can use to support children when challenges occur during daily routines. The final part of this presentation will provide attendees with an understanding of the resources and services available to children with ASD in Nebraska.

This presentation will provide participants with an understanding of early indicators of delay in young children birth to three years of age. Participants will learn how to identify behaviors that suggest delay in five developmental domains (e.g., personal-social, self-help, motor, communication, cognition). The assessment and eligibility process for children with disabilities in Nebraska under the age of three will be discussed along with services and support for families.
