Frequently Asked Questions

We are planning for a limited capacity, in-person conference with a virtual attendance ticket option. Due to the rapidly-changing nature of COVID-19, we are monitoring the situation and will continue to update our safety guidelines including following any directed-health measures and CDC guidelines in place at the time the conference takes place. Closer to the date we will determine if we need to move to an all-virtual option. Read the NYCI COVID-19 Statement.

What is the registration deadline?
Tuesday June 14, 2022. Due to planning and space constraints, we cannot accommodate on-site registration, on-site ticket type transfers, or walk-in attendees.

How do I register?
Registration has closed.

What is the difference between a virtual or in-person ticket?
In-person and virtual tickets are the same price, $35.

  • In-Person Attendance: includes on-site access to two day conference, plenary speakers as well as lunch, snacks, and beverages on both days.  
     
  • Virtual Attendance: includes livestream access to three plenary speakers and a select number of sessions. Prior to the conference, virtual attendees will receive an email with login instructions to access the conference sessions.

How can I change the type of ticket I have (e.g. from virtual to in-person or vice versa)?
The ability to transfer tickets closed on June, 14, 2022. Tickets for NYCI2022 can no longer be transferred after this date.

What if I have registered but I do not have a confirmation email or invoice?
Start by checking your junk mail, if not in your junk mail, you can log-in to your account under “My Account” link at the top of the page and follow the prompts to access your registration information and a copy of your invoice.

Can I change my mind about the breakout session I have registered for?
Attendance to specific breakout sessions is not guaranteed and is being collected only to inform our conference/room planning.

How many people can I register at once?
Registrants may register up to 10 people at once. However, each ticket requires a complete registration including attendee name, work/agency information, position title, and email address, The individual ticketholder will be emailed to make their own breakout selections after completing registration.

How do I cancel my registration for the conference?
Please let us know if you're unable to attend, but no refunds will be made. The ability to transfer tickets closed on June, 14, 2022. Tickets for NYCI2022 can no longer be transferred after this date.

What is included with my registration fee?
The $35 in-person registration fee includes access to the two-day conference and lunch on both days. The $35 virtual registration fee includes access to recorded sessions for up to 90 days after the conference.

What form of payment do you accept?
Only an online registration with a debit/credit card.

How will the registration charge appear on my financial statement?
The charge will appear as “UNL-CCFL”. If you have further questions about your payment, please contact Cassie Roberts at croberts@unl.edu.

What is the refund policy for the NYCI?
No refunds will be made. Registration may be transferred to another person or ticket type prior to June 14, 2022.

Where is the 2022 Nebraska Young Child Institute being held?
The Younes Conference Center, 416 Talmadge St, Kearney, NE 68845.

Where is the Interstate in relation to the Younes Center?
Get directions from the Interstate to the conference center.

How can I make a hotel reservation at the conference rate?
Check the Travel tab for more information.

Where can I find a schedule of the conference?
For the full conference schedule check the Agenda tab.

How do I get copies of the speakers’ handouts?
Handouts will be available on the website under the Handouts tab (these will become available starting one week before the conference). Please download and bring with you or access them on a mobile device at the conference. Printed copies will not be available at the event.

Will I receive a personalized agenda at the conference?
No, attendees will only receive a printed copy of the full agenda. You can either print your breakout selections before the conference or view on a digital device at the conference (accessible when you log into the website).

What should I pack to wear?
Business casual is appropriate. A jacket is also recommended as temperatures can fluctuate in the breakout rooms.

Is lunch provided each day of the conference?
Yes, a lunch is included with every registration for the conference. Breakfast and dinner each day will be on your own.

What kind of refreshments are provided at the conference?
Water, coffee, and iced tea will be provided throughout the conference. There will be snacks provided intermittently during specified breaks.

Are CLE or EC credits available for this conference?
Yes, this conference has been approved for 10.75 hours CLE credit, Activity #228063. For all other CE credits, you can use the certificate (which will be emailed to you after the conference) to submit your own CE credit.
